​ALDO AURILI ALWAYS HAD A PASSION FOR CLOCKS AND MECHANICS, WITH THEIR INTRINSIC MAGIC MADE BY GEARING, LEVERS AND MOVEMENTS, IN THE WAKE OF HIS PASSION HE BEGAN TO WORK FOR HIS UNCLE WHO HAD A SMALL CLOCK LABORATORY IN LUCCA. THEN HE WENT TO ROME AND WORK FOR GUIDO PICARD’S COMPANY. HE TEMPORARILY ATTENDED A THREE-YEAR COURSE SPECIALISING IN THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF CLOCK MAKING, ORGANIZED BY THE ARTISANS THERE. DURING THIS PERIOD HE MET THE MASTER ORLANDO ZIJNO, EXPERT IN THE FIELD OF OLD CLOCKS. HE EVEN WENT TO WORK IN HIS WORKSHOP AND LEARNED A LOT ABOUT WATCHMAKING AND ATTENDED SHOWROOMS FREQUENTED BY SEVERAL COLLECTORS. ALDO GAINED A LOT OF EXPERIENCE ALSO BY ATTENDING ITALIAN MARKET SHOWS, HERE HE MET PEOPLE LIKE LUIGI PIPPA, OSVALDO PATRIZZI AND OTHERS. HE THEN WITH PATRIZZI ATTENDED THE FIRST TELEMATIC AUCTION HOUSE IN GENEVA: THE D'HOROLOGERIE ANCIENNE. IN 1985 HE WAS NOMINATED AS ADVISER TO THE ITALIAN DEPARTMENT OF CHRISTIE’S AUCTION HOUSE. HE ALSO WORKS WITH THE MAGAZINE "OROLOGI". NOWADAYS HE STILL CONTINUES WORKING IN HIS WORKSHOP TOGETHER WITH HIS SON, HENRY, WHO SHARES THE SAME PASSION FOR MECHANICAL CLOCKS.
